This week they started doing the electrical work on the house. While this is a very important step, it doesn't provide a lot for me to show you in pictures.
So I decided instead to talk about something a little more fun. Remember how we got all new windows? Well that left us with lots of old windows just lying around.
Plus, there's that old closet door you see lying behind them... and we have the old front door, which will soon be replaced.
So I've been looking for ways to repurpose these old windows and doors and turn them into something unique... once we finally arrive at the time for finishing/decorating the house.
My cousin Casey and his wife Leah salvaged some old windows just like mine from an old house on their farm. Here's what they did.
They have a two-story house with a lot of blank wall space on the second floor so it made the perfect area for using their vintage finds.
Here they hung old bed frames, along with the windows. Love it.
Here are some other photos of repurposed old windows I found while scouring Pinterest.
I love the hanging windows idea. I'm trying to figure out where I could do it.
I saw another girl hang hers inside her dining room. (Go ahead and check out her full dining room makeover here.)
And this girl hinged two windows together to form party decor... but I'm thinking you could do the same thing and hang photos.
Ok... moving on to doors. Here are some ideas I like.
Use them for a headboard.
Or a coffee table. Or a desk, for that matter.
Or, simply, as my friend Leah did, paint it pretty and adorn a corner.
Ok, I'm out.
What ideas do you have for repurposing old windows and doors???
I'd love to know your ideas!
