What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

Today, I'm Loving that Eden is finally over this crazy virus! She was a very sick little girl for several days.

Sad, sick baby :(
Saturday night her fever got so high we thought we might have to take her to the ER. Thankfully she's been fever free now for two days! Thank the Lord!

I'm Loving that I made chocolate gravy Saturday morning for breakfast. I used to make this a lot when Tyler and I first got married. But I haven't made it in a couple of years. Amanda reminded me how good it was...

I'm Loving the memory board in our living room that I filled with photos from Wye Mountain. I thought it turned out so cute!

I'm Loving this one-pot lasagna I made for supper last night. Think lasagna is too hard to make? Try this EASY recipe.

1. Brown 1 lb. ground beef (we use deer meat). Drain and return to skillet.
2. Stir in 1 jar of spaghetti sauce and 1 TBS Italian seasoning. Bring to boil.
3. Add 1 cup water and 8 oz. uncooked egg noodles. Cover and cook on medium for 15 min.
4. Stir in 12 oz. (we use 16 oz) cottage cheese. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
5. Stir in 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese.

Voila! I don't usually post recipes, but that was just too easy not to!

I'm Loving the movie I watched last night, "The Next Three Days," with Russell Crowe. Oh my goodness, it was good! Go rent it at Redbox NOW!

And, lastly, I'm Loving my two favorite people.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm Loving that yesterday Eden and I got to go to Wye Mountain and take pictures in the daffodil fields! I wanted to take her last year and never got the chance so I was so excited when a few of our friends decided to go! I'm Loving these pictures I got too. Even though it is SO hard getting pictures of Eden because she runs WILD and I have to chase her like crazy, I managed to get a few good ones. Enjoy.

A Playdate, A Shower and The Old Mill

Wasn't the weather this weekend beautiful? We had a great weekend starting with a St. Patty's Day playdate at Sara's on Friday. There were LOTS of babies and kiddos. Sara kept apologizing because she thought it was too wild, but we all had a lot of fun! Unlike the V-day party, there was no painting involved, so I thought it was a pretty relaxed atmosphere!

Then Saturday, Eden and I went to a baby shower for our friend, Leigh Ann, in Little Rock. But Eden misunderstood and thought the party was for her. She insisted on standing in the middle of the room and showing off her tissue paper wardrobe. Thankfully, everyone thought that was cute :-).

After the shower, we picked up Tyler who had been bike riding with some of the girls' hubbies, and the three of us visited the Old Mill. That was the first time I had been there since I was a little kid. It is so pretty! I want us to get some family photos made there sometime. We snapped a few cute pictures, but we didn't stay too long because Eden kept wanting to run around and it was a little dangerous-- too many rocks and too much water! A great place for pictures though!

Hope you all had a great weekend as well!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hello all! Happy Wednesday to 'ya!

First of all, I'm Loving that Jamie from This Kind of Love (Miss "What I'm Loving Wednesday" herself) commented on my last WILW post. She has close to 200 people that link up with her each week so I was excited to have her comment on mine :-).

Jamie and her hubby

I'm Loving this hair bow that Sara made to go with Eden's Easter dress.

I'm Loving Eden's new hat that her Mimi got for her. We're going to the beach in a couple months, and she is going to be the Cutest. Beach. Baby. EVER. in this hat!

I'm Loving this random photo of Eden playing in her room after bathtime. She thinks she's hiding behind that lid!

I'm Loving that Arkansas Women Bloggers is hosting a mini-conference in June. I reeeeallly want to go. Do you? Maybe we could be roomies!

Memory Monday- Z Games

Today, I'm linking up with my friend Sara for her "Memory Monday."

If you've ever read my "Published" page, you may have read that I was once on a Disney TV show called "Z Games." However, unless you were born circa 1987-1990, you may be unfamiliar with the awesomeness that is "Z Games."

Let me explain.

When my best friend, Beth Ann, and I were in the seventh grade, there was a show on the Disney Channel about kids around the country who made up and played their own "homemade" games. The show would feature a handful of games each week, and Miss Betty Okino, former Olympic gymnast, would go to some of the kids' towns and learn and play the games for several short segments that made up one show.

Being the innovative kind that we were, Beth Ann and I decided we wanted to be on the show. So we got out a ball, started bouncing it and created some rules. (Notice, the order of events was completely opposite what should have happened. The show wanted kids who already played homemade games to send them in. We, obviously, just wanted to be on TV.)

Our game, "Four Base Bounce" was mediocre at best, but the LETTER we sent into Disney was Killer. First, we typed the letter out in two different fonts, as if Beth Ann was saying certain things, and I was saying certain things. The whole letter was like a conversation, and you could easily tell who was saying what. And second, we put the letter in one Giant business-size envelope so it would stand out from the crowd.

It worked.

A few weeks later, we got a call from Disney saying we had been chosen to be on the show. WE WERE GOING TO BE MOVIE STARS!!! (or something like that...)

Anyway, the day came when a whole crew from New York showed up on our doorstep in little bitty Small Town, USA. Camera men, sound guys, a producer and Betty Okino.

Beth Ann and I got to select a few friends to be on the show and play the game with us, and all of us got out of school for the day. A day OFF from school AND being on the Disney Channel. We thought we were in Heaven.

We spent the whole day showing Betty around our town, doing interviews and playing the game we had invented, including doing retake after retake so we could get a shot of one of us actually making the ball in the goal (We were not so proficient at this game we had created).

It was so much fun. Definitely something we'll never forget. The show aired a few weeks later, and we had our 3 minutes of fame. (Not to mention, we also got to be on a couple local morning shows to promote the show.)

But the main thing we got, was a lifetime of memories.

All our friends playing "Four Base Bounce" for the camera
Betty Okino and me
Betty and my sister, Audrey (so sad I can't find a pic of Beth Ann! )
Betty doing gymnastics in our living room
