Discovering Dinner as a Family

So we recently discovered "sitting down to dinner as a family."

I know, I know. This has been a 'thing' for a while. Like a few thousand years or so. But it's new to us. Because, you know, when you have babies, you feel well accomplished if you all eat, period. Much less in the same room, at the same time.

So Tyler may not have worn his suit and tie, and our kids may or may not have prayed with their hands unclasped and eyes half open, but I think we still got it mostly right.

Let's also not talk about the lack of anything healthy whatsoever on our table, shall we? WE'RE TALKING ABOUT FAMILY TOGETHERNESS, HERE!

Anyway, I can't say we've done this a lot. It really is a lot of work to get everything laid out and everyone seated at the same time. But in the handful of times that we have, I've really enjoyed it. There is no TV to distract us. No going from room to room to check on the kids. And we get a few, rare uninterrupted minutes to discuss our day as a family. It's priceless, actually.

And a lot of fun.
