I grew up reading, listening to, and loving "Little Critter" books. I could listen to classics like I'm So Mad and Just Go to Bed over and over and over again, and today, I read them to my own kids. So I was thrilled to recently discover that Little Critter books are now available with faith-based messages!
Last month we received two books from this new collection -- It's True and You Go First. In It's True, kids learn that telling a partial truth is much different than telling the whole truth. This is a timely topic for us as Eden has started telling little "white lies," like saying she didn't do something she did, etc. I'm hoping the message from this book sinks in and shows her the importance of telling the whole truth. And in You Go First, kids learn to treat others the way they want to be treated. I think this is relevant for all little ones who struggle with putting others before themselves.
Eden loved both of these books! She was already familiar with Little Critter books so they were basically new versions of old favorites. But I'm convinced any kid would love them just as much. The stories are things that kids relate to so well, the lines are catchy, and the pictures are captivating. (Every page of Little Critter books includes a spider or a mouse hidden somewhere so kids have fun looking for those too.)
This week, I'm giving away a duo of faith-based Little Critter books -- one copy of It's True and one You Go First. To enter, leave a comment telling me your favorite book as a small child OR which of these messages your kids most need to learn. Be sure to let Rafflecopter know you entered and earn additional entries by liking me on Facebook and following me on Twitter. I'll announce a winner Friday, Oct. 18.
