One of the most important values I hope to instill in my children is a heart for the world. I desperately want them to know about and be burdened for countries around the world and realize there's so much more than this small town, state and country where we live.
Therefore, I was absolutely thrilled with the Bible Storybook I got this month from Tommy Nelson. I know I've said it before, but this is in fact my favorite Tommy Nelson resource we've received thus far!
The God's Love for You Bible Storybook is a beautiful, hardcover book filled with children's favorite Bible stories and information about countries and children around the world.
While reading this Bible, kids will learn about countries like Haiti, Bolivia, Kenya, Mexico and countless others. They'll see real photos of kids who live there, hear about what their lives are like, and hopefully gain a better understanding that this world is a big place.
The stories from around the world are written by World Vision® CEO Richard Stearns and his wife, Reneé, and if you purchase your own copy of the book, proceeds go directly to World Vision to help children around the world.
My girls have loved this Bible. Eden especially loves asking me, "What's this country called?" and then finding it on the map or globe. It makes my heart happy to watch her understanding of the world grow, and I hope in time, her heart for its people will as well.
I'm giving away one copy of the God's Love for You Bible, and all you have to do to enter is leave a comment telling me why your kids or family needs it. For additional entries, like me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter. I'll announce a winner Monday, Oct. 28, when I'll also post this month's Small Town Life post.
